"Samantha is a diverse multidisciplined artist working in lots of different mediums, researching the multicultural world, originally from the Rainbow Nation (South Africa), now reciding in the Netherlands. The Cultural shock influenced her work on many different levels, which she takes further with her concepts, "Mindtrees", "Mind Scapes", and of course
"The Tailchaser Society" including the mundane mediocre society in which we recide ( where nobody can think for themselves), which resulted in the last series "The Garden in my Head" .... (escapism)...and The Chaos Theory - how everything is linked to each other.... being part of the big Circle of life...... the never ending infinity, and always facing forwards towards the sun..........

How you have to rewrite yourself in order to survive, get new crutches so to speak, a new and different way of thinking, seeing and communicating, as everything that was, isn't any more ..... the never ending circles of life...

Welcome to the workings and scribblings of a multidisciplined artist, I've tried a lot of different mediums and I'm still discovering new ones every day and I hope it never ends -

"One lifetime is too short!!!!!"

It all started with Graphic Design, which felt much too restrictive, being a hands-on type of person...
then followed -

Printmaking, meaning etching, screen-printing, lithography, woodcuts, lino's, mono-prints etc.

Photography: including preparations for etching and the printing house...

Drawing - all mediums, from pencils, pastels to ink... resulting in multimedia.

Sculpture: starting out with anything I could lay my hands on, I've grown a fondness for clay as it is such a plyable medium, for bigger projects I use metal and stone, sometimes glass, wire, gauze, chickenwire...

Painting: tried all mediums even pure pigments, sticking mostly to acrylics combined with oilbars and oilpastels and lots of textures.

Graphic Design - worked as Illustrator and Graphic Designer for a few years.

Now present time - Lecturer of Fine Arts

Now I own and run my own studio "Sam's Art Studio" where I give lectures, workshops and team-buildings, when I'm not working on my own concepts and art...

With my spare time I'm a Body Balance , Rowing and Yoga Instructor... and Body and Mind Creative Energy Team Builder... with Dancing Medicine - doing Coaching for Individuals, Groups and Companies.
